A landslide of tufaceous and rock material affected the provincial road to bathe in Lipari, risking causing a tragedy. The episode occurred around 5 in the morning, a time that fortunately avoided the involvement of people and vehicles.
The artery, crucial for the island, connects the center of Lipari with Porto Pignataro and the hamlet of Canneto and is among the busiest. The firefighters, with the detachment located nearby, intervened promptly to remove the debris from the carriageway, temporarily depositing them on the roadside.
