In the early hours of today the carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Cosenza, with the support of the specialist joints and under the coordination of the District Anti -Mafia Directorate of Catanzaro, carried out a precautionary order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Catanzaro against eight people.
The suspects are accused, in various capacities, of a criminal association, attempted extortion, aggravated thefts, detention and port of weapons and explosives, receiving stolen goods, recycling and personal injuries. Some contested episodes would be aggravated by the mafia method.
The investigations, launched in October 2022 by the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Paola and subsequently integrated by the investigative unit of the Provincial Command of Cosenza, have allowed – thanks to interceptions, observation services and video surveillance analysis – to outline the activity of an alleged criminal group rooted in Cetraro and in the neighboring area.
