The vaccination campaign against the syncial respiratory virus which is the cause of bronchiolite starts from 1st October, at the Policlinico of Messina. For the second year, it will be possible to receive the antidote against an infection of the low respiratory tract that mainly affects infants and children under two years and spreads especially during the winter season. After the worrying cases of the last two years who have marked a surge in the contagions, with also serious symptoms that have made it necessary to hospitalize for many children, the doctors of the Polyclinic trust in the adhesion of families to the immunoprofilass campaign. It will be possible to get vaccinated in the following clinics: UOC of Neonatology directed by dr. Alessandro Arco for healthy infants, UOC of neonatal pathology and pediatric intensive care directed by Prof. Eloisa Gitto for premature children and the UOC of Pediatrics of Pediatric Allergology Outpatient with Dr. Sara Manti and Giusy Zirilli and Prof. Malgorzata Wasniewska for all other children. The prophylaxis campaign is intended for infants aged between 0 and 12 months and from 0 to 24 months for children with predisposing pathologies such as Down syndrome, immunosteldesoms or neurological pathologies.
