On Saturday the community of Corigliano-Rossano lived a moment of intense spirituality with the “Peregrinatio Mariae” of the Madonna of Fatima.
The sacred effigy in flight over the city
The statue was transferred aboard an AW139 helicopter from Corigliano to the “Felice Calabrò” sports building in Rossano. During the overflow, which occurred despite the incessant rain, the effigy flew the hospitals “Guido Campagna” of Corigliano and “Nicola Giannettasio” of Rossano, giving those present a symbolic blessing from above.
The procession and the celebration
At landing, the Madonna was welcomed by the religious and civil authorities, and then escaped in the procession along the city streets to the church of San Paolo, where the solemn mass was celebrated. The initiative, promoted by the parish and the servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, recalled a large number of faithful, who accompanied the arrival of the sacred image with devotion.
