Fear evening on 17 September in Cropani, where the carabinieri of the Operational Unit and Radiomobile of the Compagnia di Sellia Marina, together with the colleagues of the Botricello station, arrested a 35 -year -old man in the act of crime, accused of mistreatment in the family.
The intervention of the military was triggered after the reporting of some neighbors, alarmed by the cries coming from the home. Once on the spot, the carabinieri found man’s wife in a strong state of agitation and prostration, immediately entrusting her to medical treatment.
According to what was reconstructed in the preliminary investigations phase – which must be confirmed in the contradictory between accusation and defense – the man, blinded by jealousy, would have attacked the woman during a family dispute. Armed with a fork, he would have blocked her on the sofa and hit with punches and slaps, threatening it heavily. Investigators also reconstructed a series of previous episodes of violence and threats, often consumed even in front of the minor children, who would have scored the victim’s life for years in an atmosphere of domestic terror.
After the arrest and the formalities of the ritual at the Compagnia di Sellia Marina, the 35 -year -old was conducted in the district house of Catanzaro. At the outcome of the validation hearing, the judge ordered the precautionary measure of removal from the family home and the ban on approaching, with the application of the electronic bracelet.
