It was the most anticipated intervention of the center -right convention in Lamezia Terme, in support of Roberto Occhiuto’s candidacy for the governor of Calabria. To take the floor in front of the crowded audience of Corso Numistrano was the premier and leader of Fratelli d’Italia, Giorgia Meloni, who relaunched the team spirit of the coalition and underlined the importance of direct contact with the citizens: “It is very important for us to return to the people to collect enthusiasm to continue working hard”.
Meloni thanked Occhiuto for the invitation, remembering the choice of the former president of the region to resign in advance: “He called us in advance, however, and it is a choice I share. In our DNA, citizens have to say whether we have to go home or not. This is our idea of democracy”.

There was no lack of passages of criticism towards the oppositions, in particular against the so -called “wide field”: “It is an unnatural alliance. Confirming the words of Occhiuto, Giorgia Meloni said that the conclusion process of the health commissioner in Calabria was started. The premier then received as a gift from the candidate to the office of governor a bouquet of flowers and a hat with “Calabria” written.
