Misadventure in flight yesterday afternoon for a sportsman who launched himself in paragliding by Gallodoro. The man, a 38 -year -old of Hungarian nationality, took off from the district of the Ercia district to land on the Letojanni promenade, but while he was in the air something went wrong and ended further south, falling into a land in the territory of Taormina, in an impervious area not far from the motorway junction, being injured and unable to move. The alarm took place, the firefighters of the Letojanni detachment, the police officers of the Public Security Commissioner of Taormina and an ambulance of the 118 station of Santa Teresa di Riva intervened on the spot. In the meantime, a helicopter has taken off from the “Papardo” hospital in Messina to accelerate the rescue operations, landing on a nearby road. The firefighters and the health personnel of the ambulance and the aircraft therefore reached the injured person by land, despite the particular nature of the land that made the operations difficult, and once recovered they conducted it on the aircraft and transferred to the Polyclinic of Messina. In the fall, the 38 -year -old reported Politraumi and suspicious fractures and would not be life threatening.
