Gunshots fired at Rihanna’s mansion in the hills above Beverly Hills. A woman armed with an Ar-15-style semi-automatic rifle fired in broad daylight at the residence of the singer, who was inside the house at the time of the attack.
The alleged shooter, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, was later stopped in a Sherman Oaks parking lot and the gun was recovered. The charge against him is attempted murder. The Los Angeles prosecutor’s office, which will officially announce the indictments, has made a request for bail in excess of ten million dollars.
The shots against the residence
It is not yet clear whether the woman had intentionally targeted the home of the singer, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. According to what has been reconstructed, about ten shots were fired at the large residence on Beverly Crest from a white Tesla stopped across the street, while other volleys hit nearby villas.
At least four bullets riddled the wall of the mansion where Rihanna lives with her partner, the rapper A$ap Rocky, and her three children RZA, Riot and Rocki, the last of whom was born in September. It is not clear whether the rapper or the children were present in the house with the singer at the time of the shooting.
Testimony from a neighbor
«You don’t hear things like that in this neighborhood. It’s a pretty quiet area,” said neighbor Isabel Thorne, explaining that she heard a single, very loud shot. «Everything in this valley echoes. Even when someone is having a party, when there is music.”
Previous episodes
It is not the first time that Rihanna has found herself at the center of episodes of this type. In 2018, her Fullerton villa was the subject of two break-ins and in one of the cases a stalker managed to enter the house and remained there for about twelve hours while the singer was elsewhere.
Last year, A$ap Rocky (real name Rakim Mayers) was found not guilty of a 2021 charge in the 2021 shooting death of a former high school friend outside a Hollywood bar. The rapper risked nine years in prison and Rihanna attended the trial as a sign of solidarity.
