The Italian Government is working tirelessly, in contact with our allies and partners in the region, to monitor the situation and protect the safety of Italian citizens.” Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated this on social media, explaining that “the priority is to protect our compatriots and work, together with our main partners and allies, to support any initiative that can lead to a return to diplomacy and dialogue between the parties”. Meloni then writes that «as agreed with Parliament, in the next few days I will also be in the Chamber to report to the Chambers».
“At the same time we are monitoring all fronts, from security to the economic effects of the crisis, evaluating every possible mitigation action in these areas”, adds Meloni, guaranteeing that “Italy will continue to do its part with responsibility and determination”.
