Great fear this afternoon and a near tragedy in the municipality of Figline Vegliaturo, in the Timparella area, along the municipal road Via Vegliaturo. A fire brigade team intervened following the fall of two people, father and son, from a height of approximately 10 meters into the bed of a river adjacent to the road. The two, of Turkish nationality, born in 1984 and 2008 respectively and resident at the SAI center in Figline Vegliaturo, were traveling on a scooter when, for reasons currently under investigation, they lost control and ended up going down an embankment.
The fire brigade personnel reached the injured using SAF (Alpine Fluvial Speleum) techniques, operating safely in a particularly impervious area. After recovery, the two were entrusted to the care of the healthcare personnel of Suem 118. The son was transported by air ambulance to the Annunziata hospital in Cosenza. The Suem 118 and the Police were also present at the scene of the intervention for their duties.
