Nathan Bennett, a former employee of a nursery school in Bristol, in western England, found guilty by British justice of having raped and abused children and infants entrusted to his care in the past, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. The abominable affair, not the first of its kind to go to trial recently in the UK, has caused horror in the local community, across the island and in the media.

The 30-year-old Bennett, nailed by the police after an investigation launched on the basis of the suspicions advanced by some families of his little victims, as well as doubts about his way of acting and the testimonies of former colleagues at Partou King Street Nursery in Bristol, was at the center of a shock verdict last month.

When a popular jury at the Bristol Crown Court found him guilty of at least two episodes of sexual violence, two of serious abuse and at least 4 of molestation against 5 male children; in addition to the 13 molestations that the accused – originally from Corston, near the historic Roman city of Bath – had previously confessed to first hand.

The prosecutor underlined “the remarkable level of premeditation” on the part of the maniac. The sentence was then determined by Judge William Hart, who justified the harshness of the sentence – in today’s reading of the device – by branding Bennett as “an evil man, an incorrigible and dangerous pedophile”.
