VERONA – Great saving move for Genoa. Daniele De Rossi’s men pass 2-0 at the Bentegodi against Hellas Verona, in the match valid for the twenty-ninth matchday of Serie A 2025/2026: the goals scored by Vitinha and Ostigard decide. Great start to the match by the home team, who after just 3′ hit the post following a cross shot from Akpa Akpro. The rossoblù’s response was not long in coming, as in the 8th minute Ekuban tried to take advantage of Vasquez’s assist by kicking with his left foot, but Montipò blocked the ball without problems. After a lively start, the two teams slowed down the pace of the game slightly, also due to several errors made by both sides. In the 34th minute, however, Bowie suddenly lights up, turning and kicking towards the goal: Ostigard opposes and thwarts the threat. Verona tries to make itself seen in the offensive zone even at the end of the first half, with a shot from Akpa Akpro that goes wide. The two teams, therefore, went to rest with a score of 0-0 at the end of the 2′ of added time.

At the start of the second half Genoa put together a good move, which however ended with a too weak conclusion from Sabelli. Mister De Rossi decides to change something by introducing fresh forces and the newly-entered Vitinha immediately repays his coach’s trust: in the 61st minute the attacker lets loose a missile from 30 meters that beats Montipò, who was mocked despite a rather central conclusion. Hellas, therefore, tries to react to restore the balance in the score, but its offensive maneuvers are not well-reasoned and incisive. Substitutes such as Belghali and Frese are unable to give the Scaligeri a shock and, in fact, lose several balls favoring the opponents’ counterattacks. In the 86th minute Leo Ostigard, among the best on the pitch, took advantage of Martin’s cross from a free kick to make it 2-0 and secure the second consecutive victory for the rossoblù, the first away from home in three months. By virtue of this result, Genoa jumps to 33 points in the standings, while Hellas Verona remains second to last at 18. The Ligurians will host Udinese at the Ferraris on Friday; for the Venetians, however, next Sunday there will be an away match at the New Balance Arena against Atalanta.

Pisa beat Cagliari 3-1 at home on the 29th matchday of Serie A and achieved the first victory under Hiljemark’s management. Match dominated by the Tuscans, despite the numerical inferiority from the 37th minute, due to the red card waved by La Penna to Durosinmi. Moreo’s sixth league goal kicks things off (in the 9th minute, from a penalty) with the Nerazzurri managing to maintain the lead until half-time. Coming out of the locker room, Caracciolo, between the 52nd and 54th minutes, took advantage of the amnesia of the Sardinian defense to put the hosts at 3-0. Pavoletti closes the gap in the 67th minute, but Cagliari’s negative moment continues, also then reduced to 10 men and without a win (now) in six games. Pisacane’s men remain stuck in 15th position with 30 points, +6 above the relegation zone. Salvation remains difficult for Pisa, now at 18 points and -7 behind Fiorentina (fourth last). The Tuscan club achieved their second victory of the season after the one achieved, again at the Arena Garibaldi, against Cremonese last November 7th. Next day Cagliari will host Napoli (20 March at 6.30 pm), while Pisa will fly to Como (22 March at 12.30 pm).

In the second half, Cagliari remained sterile in the offensive phase and it was Pisa who found the second goal in the 52nd minute with Caracciolo, capable of beating Caprile by collecting an involuntary pass from Folorunsho. The Sardinians exit the match and again suffer a hat-trick from Caracciolo, who in the 54th minute scores his personal brace from a Tramoni corner. Pisacane’s team tries to put the pieces back together by holding on to Pavoletti, who in the 67th minute slips between Caracciolo and Canestrelli and finds the goal 3-1. Cagliari’s attempts at a comeback were shattered in the 81st minute with Obert’s expulsion for a second yellow card.

Sassuolo-Bologna 0-1
GOALS: 6′ pt Dallinga.
SASSUOLO (4-3-3): Muric 6; Walukiewicz 5.5, Idzes 5.5, Muharemovic 6.5, Garcia 6 (30′ st Doig 6); Thorstvedt 6, Matic 5.5 (14′ st Volpato 6), Konè 5.5 (30′ st Vranckx 6); Berardi 5.5 (41′ st Bakola sv), Pinamonti 5.5 (14′ st Nzola 6), Laurientè 6. On the bench: Turati, Satalino, Zacchi, Felipe, Romagna, Coulibaly, Iannoni, Lipani, Moro. Coach: Grosso 5.5.
BOLOGNA (4-2-3-1): Skorupski 6; De Silvestri 6 (29′ pt Zortea 6), Vitik 6.5, Lucumi 6, Miranda 6.5; Moro 6 (19′ st Freuler 6), Sohm 6.5 (38′ st Pobega sv); Orsolini 6, Odgaard 6.5 (38′ st Bernardeschi sv), Cambiaghi 6; Dallinga 7 (19′ st Castro 6). On the bench: Ravaglia, Pessina, Joao Mario, Casale, Heggem, Lykogiannis, Helland, Rowe, Dominguez. Coach: Italian 6.
REFEREE: Bonacina di Lecco 6.5.
NOTES: clear afternoon, pitch in good condition. Booked: Dallinga, Nzola, Zortea. Corners: 7-4. Recovery time: 2′, 7’+2.

In the middle of the double cup match against Roma, Bologna took home full spoils in the Emilian derby against Sassuolo. At the Mapei Stadium, the final 1-0 was scored by Dallinga, who scored in the opening minutes. After playing an excellent first half, Bologna managed to manage the result in the second half, facilitated by an imprecise and not very intense Sassuolo. However, in terms of injuries, the guests’ afternoon was not at all lucky: in addition to the forced exits first of De Silvestri and then of Moro, in the end there was also apprehension about Skorupski’s condition. In view of the return of the Europa League, Italiano opted for several lineup changes: in addition to Orsolini and Odgaard, Dallinga was chosen to initially give Castro a chance to catch his breath. The rossoblù coach’s move proved to be a good one already in the 6th minute. In fact, thanks to a splendid right-footed turn, the Dutch attacker immediately broke the deadlock, scoring his second goal of the championship. The guests are not satisfied with the 1-0 and continue to push in search of a double. Moro’s free kick in the 38th minute near the top corner and the attempts by Orsolini and Cambiaghi certify the offensive efforts produced by the Italian team.
Sassuolo, however, is only dangerous in the 8th minute, when Skorupski is forced to dirty his gloves on Pinamonti’s first-time right-footed shot. The neroverdi did little or nothing even at the beginning of the second half: Grosso then tried to shake things up, introducing Nzola and Volpato. The latter was immediately the protagonist in the 62nd minute, challenging Skorupski with a shot from a tight angle. The home team’s offensive production, however, was limited to Volpato’s chance. Sassuolo didn’t even take advantage of Skorupski’s muscle problem at the end, never managing to get a shot. This defeat thus distances the Neroverdi from eighth position, occupied by Bologna, now four points away. The three points won will allow Italiano to prepare for Thursday’s match at the Olimpico with greater serenity, even if the injury bill presented today is very high.
