The escape ended with a precise choice: to show up at the barracks. After months of being unavailable, Giuseppe Ferraro has decided to turn himself in, putting an end to the inaction that began last September.
Delivery after months of unavailability
During the day, the Carabinieri of the Cosenza Provincial Command notified him of the precautionary custody order in prison, which he had escaped on 25 September 2025 as part of the “Thyrrenum” operation.
The young man presented himself at the Cetraro Carabinieri station, a choice also made in light of the investigative activity carried out by the soldiers of the Cosenza investigative unit, coordinated by the Catanzaro District Attorney’s Office.
The accusations and the context of the investigation
Ferraro is among those under investigation in the provision issued by the investigating judge of Catanzaro, which brought to light, on a circumstantial level, the existence of an association aimed at committing various crimes, some aggravated by the mafia method.
He is accused of, among other things, participation in the group, possession of weapons and explosive material, money laundering, receiving stolen goods and theft. Giuseppe Scornaienchi was also among those who evaded capture.
Ferraro was transferred to the Vibo Valentia prison.
