The Provincial Health Authority of Messina inaugurated this morning two new spoke-type community homes in the municipalities of Mistretta and Santo Stefano di Camastra, built as part of the Pnrr. These structures have been designed to strengthen the territorial network, guarantee proximity, integration and multidisciplinarity of assistance and offer complete and continuous care of the person, including a psychological assistance service. Present were the Strategic Management of the ASP of Messina, the mayor of Mistretta Sebastiano Sanzarello, the mayor of Santo Stefano di Camastra Francesco Re and the director of the Uoc Psychology service of the ASP Nina Santisi.

“As Strategic Management – declared the general director Giuseppe Cuccì, the administrative director Giancarlo Niutta and the health director Giuseppe Ranieri Trimarchi – we express great satisfaction with these new openings, the result of careful planning, team work and strong collaboration with the regional health department and local administrations. Our objective is to guarantee every person, wherever they reside in the province of Messina, the possibility of accessing treatment, prevention and assistance quality, in modern, welcoming facilities oriented towards the real needs of the population. In the coming months, the opening of community hospitals in the Nebrodi area in Sant’Agata di Militello and Patti is also planned, which will complete the network of local services, helping to reduce improper hospitalizations and the pressure on traditional hospital structures. This is a fundamental piece in building a healthcare system that is closer to the people, fairer and more sustainable for the entire province of Messina”.
