The Ko’s upgrade to the Ars under the blows of the snipers was, for the center-right, a stalemate due to the absences of deputies and councilors. And so the red alert went off yesterday at Palazzo d’Orleans. With the echo of a paralyzed Parliament in the background, Renato Schifani called the group leaders in the morning and in the afternoon initiated a moral suasion of the councilors in the council. So the president is trying to get out of the quicksand on the eve of crucial votes for the last phase of the legislature.
The snapshot of the state of health of the centre-right is a fact that emerged on Wednesday during the vote on the little law that would have recovered some health regulations that had been excluded from the December Budget: in the chamber there were around twenty opposition deputies (mainly from the Democratic Party and 5 Star) and just 12 from the centre-right. Councilor Daniela Faraoni was also absent, despite the fact that health regulations were included in the vote. And not even the president of the ARS, Gaetano Galvagno, was there.
Thus the “retreat” took place, that is, the decision to postpone until Tuesday rules such as capped rates in hospital car parks and the establishment of the regional center for the treatment of endometriosis. Waiting for Tuesday, however, the majority came out in pieces. Gianfranco Micciché suggested putting an end to the legislature. Forzista Luisa Lantieri called for an intervention by Schifani. And yesterday the president opened the Ars dossier. He spoke with Galvagno and then with the majority group leaders. Schifani’s irritation at what happened at Ars filtered through the Palace. Hence also the decision to set a summit for Tuesday.
