He is hospitalized in serious condition in Catania a very young man from Taormina was involved in a road accident that occurred this morning in Giardini Naxos, on Via Vittorio Emanuele, State Road 114. In the accident two motorcycles collided and the one who lost out was a 16-year-old riding a 125cc motorbike, who crashed into a scooter driven by a 70-year-old, also from Taormina.
The 16-year-old suffered multiple traumas and in particular a serious head injury and was taken by the 118 ambulance to the emergency room of the “San Vincenzo” hospital in Taormina. In the early afternoon, however, he was transferred by ambulance to the “Cannizzaro” hospital in Catania, where he arrived intubated in serious condition, in code red, and was taken to the Trauma Center; shortly before 7pm, the doctors ordered hospitalization with a reserved prognosis in the intensive care unit, where they are monitoring the situation to decide how to act based on the evolution of the clinical picture.
