After 40 days of uninterrupted increases in petrol and diesel prices, average fuel prices today recorded their first drops on the network, even if the decline is not homogeneous across the territory and does not involve all regions. This was stated by Codacons who reworked the Mimit data. Today the average price of diesel drops in Italy to 2.180 euros per litre, -0.4 cents compared to yesterday’s prices, while petrol stands at 1.793 euros/litre (-0.3 cents compared to yesterday). On the motorway the average price of diesel is 2.204 euros per litre, up 0.1 cent compared to yesterday, while petrol costs 1.823 euros/litre, down 0.6 cents on yesterday’s motorway price lists. At a regional level, the price of diesel drops in all regions except Sicily (+0.2 cents), Abruzzo (+0.4 cents) and Basilicata (+0.1 cents), while in Emilia Romagna and Puglia the price lists remain unchanged. The most significant drops are recorded in Liguria (-1.7 cents), Valle d’Aosta (-1.6 cents). On the petrol front, average prices fell in all regions except Valle d’Aosta (+0.1 cent), while in Molise the price of green petrol remained unchanged. Net of the drop recorded after the excise duty cut, this is the first drop in prices at the pump after 40 days of consecutive price increases. – explains the association -, Thanks to the incessant pressure from Codacons and our complaints yesterday about the lack of reductions after the collapse of oil, something is finally moving on the fuel front, but these are still minimal drops which have an imperceptible impact on motorists’ spending: with the reduction recorded today on the network, in fact, the saving is on average just 0.20 euros on a full tank of diesel, 0.15 euros on a full tank of diesel, concludes Codacons.
