The Lega Serie B Assembly, which met today in Milan with the participation of all the clubs, defined the crucial steps for the end of the season and laid the foundations for the future of the championship. At the center of the work is the ratification of the calendar for the promotion and relegation play-offs, as well as important news on the economic sustainability front.

Looking to the future: 2026/2027 season and reforms
The Assembly has already outlined the boundaries of the next championship. The 2026/2027 season will officially begin on Saturday 22 August 2026 (with possible advances on Friday 21), while the last day is scheduled for the weekend between 14 and 16 May 2027.
On a structural level, a “historic” agreement was reached to contain costs. The new rules, which will gradually come into force from next season, aim to control spending on work and introduce a model of redistribution of resources based on solidarity and economic-financial sustainability.
Towards the FIGC election: Bedin’s mandate
In view of the FIGC Elective Assembly on 22 June, President Paolo Bedin has received an exploratory mandate to draw up a programmatic document to be presented to the federal candidates. Serie B priorities include:
* Enhancement of young people.
* System reform and political interventions.
* Economic sustainability and spending control.
“We are ready to give our contribution of ideas and solutions”, declared Bedin, underlining the unity of the clubs in wanting to place the contents at the center of the federal debate. Finally, a new internal Media and Communication Commission was established to explore strategic and administrative issues.
