The public notice for support vouchers for small publishers will be published in the next few days. This is an initiative – presented today to the Ministry of Culture – promoted by the Mic through the Center for Books and Reading, with an allocation of 5 million euros whose objective is to offer economic support to publishing micro-businesses. Companies in Italy with Ateco code 58.11.00 born before January 1, 2020 (in the form of joint-stock companies, partnerships, sole proprietorships or ETS registered with the REA and the Runts) will be able to submit the application – to be completed online through the Invitalia portal from 20 June at 12pm.
They must have fewer than 10 employees, a turnover equal to or less than 2 million euros and at least ten books published over the last three financial years. The contribution will be non-repayable up to a maximum amount of 15 thousand euros, recognized in relation to expenses incurred for raw materials, costs for services, costs for the use of third-party assets and relating to employees in the financial years 2023, 2024 and 2025. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of formal checks of the documentation presented, the existence of the access requirements and the analysis of the amount of management costs incurred in the last three financial years. The consistency between the destination of the potential contribution and the company objectives in the business plan will then be verified. In particular, companies that express their intention to participate in national and/or international trade fairs, shows and sector events that intend to implement digitalisation processes, increase the number of qualified personnel or consolidate existing employment levels and increase turnover through strengthening commercial capacity, expanding sales channels and innovating business models will be favored.
