The time has come for the “Reggio Calabria Street Food Fest” 2026. The curtain on the second edition will rise this evening on the Italo Falcomatà seafront: at 6.15 pm the ribbon cutting and the inauguration of the Food Village with its 48 food houses and the stage ready to host music, shows and entertainment. The tensile structure of the show cooking area has been expanded, which will host the best chefs and ice cream makers from Calabria and Sicily. A connection that unites the Strait, following an itinerary among the gastronomic excellences of different Italian regions.
«We’re finally here, the “Reggio Calabria Street Food Fest” restarts the engines», comments Alberto Palella, founder of the format (in Messina and Reggio Calabria) and administrator of Eventamente. «Being in Reggio Calabria again this year – he states – is a great satisfaction and a great commitment. We enriched the event with a gastronomic offer that tells the story of many territories. All that remains is to welcome those who decide to embark on a journey of taste that will certainly not disappoint expectations.”
A journey that means good food, but also the right space to meet and talk about the territory. Entrepreneurs, companies, chefs, ice cream makers, scholars, industry experts and journalists will liven up the evenings with talks; in addition to the territorial marketing actions that an event like this generates. Not to forget the press tour which will host journalists from outside, food bloggers and well-known influencers who will consolidate the communication of the Fest by making the rich agri-food heritage and traditions even more known. Furthermore, the aim is to valorise local companies and to make people discover the locations of historical and cultural interest in the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria with its territorial brand “Animautentica”.
The cooking shows are also highly anticipated. There will be 9 with an expansion of the dedicated area that will accommodate up to 70 people. The chefs and master ice cream makers will offer specialties in an experience that highlights the local products of the Strait and its prestigious cellars. Not just food but also fun. The Village will in fact give space to lots of music, shows and entertainment, which promises the public an experience full of conviviality, aggregation and fun.
