«Up to now the framework is not clear at all and the precondition which is a peace agreement is missing. The truce is not enough, which is also very fragile. We need a clear framework which the government has not provided at this time. There needs to be a peace agreement and a clear multilateral mandate which does not exist at the moment. So the government should clarify what it has in mind before making announcements.” The secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, said this when commenting on the availability expressed by Prime Minister Meloni on Friday at the meeting of the willing, on the sidelines of the global summit of progressive governments and parties in Barcelona.

“The government stops waging war on renewables and follows Spain”

The price of energy in Italy «is not that it has increased tenfold: last week, due to the illegal war wanted by Trump and Netanyahu, the price of energy on the same day was 180 euro MW/h in Italy and 18 MW/H in Spain, that is, it costs 10 times more», and what Elly Schlein revealed, at the Global progressive mobilization in Barcelona, speaking at the panel «Fredom Deal: securing Europe Independence in climate, energy, digital and a defense policy”, moderated by Mohammed Chahim, of the Dutch Labor Party, with the executive vice-president of the EU Commission, Teresa Ribera. «Spain 6-7 years ago was in a similar situation to ours» Schlein recalled on the sidelines with journalists.

The Spaniards «very quickly created an industrial policy for the development of renewables which brought incredible results very quickly and very quickly managed to drastically reduce the price of bills. Which should be done urgently in Italy,” he added. Thanks to these policies, Madrid «has been able to withstand the impact of the fluctuation in energy prices much better in these weeks of illegal war wanted by Trump and Netanyahu. Italy should hurry up and go in the same direction: we have sun, water and wind but we have a government that wages war on renewables which could quickly create quality jobs, good businesses and lower the bills of families and businesses”, emphasized the dem secretary.

Who reported that “it’s been three years since Meloni has done anything about the cost of energy other than decrees like those on fuel bills which are then immediately overtaken by the facts due to the events wanted by his allies, Trump and Netanyahu, i.e. the wars”. Schlein emphasized that dependence on fossil fuels “gives us hands and feet to countries that are fomenting war.”
