The permanent employment contracts which bring 116 staff units into the ranks of the public administration were signed this morning at the headquarters of the regional Department of Public Function, in Palermo, in the presence of the President of the Region Renato Schifani. In detail, these are 42 economic-financial officials (ECOFI) and 15 management control officials (COGE) selected through a competitive procedure in 2025. Another 59, including 10 assistants for the Employment Centers and 49 officials, who come from the previous competition announced in 2022, will strengthen the administrative offices of various departments.
«I wish the new hires good luck – said President Schifani – feel part of a team, today you inherit a legacy that I hope, with your work, you can make even more precious. I am happy that – he added – the Region can start hiring new staff again. We worked hard to overcome the obstacles that prevented us from holding the competitions, because Sicily did not have its accounts in order. Today we are a different region, we have consolidated our accounts, obtained the trust of the national government and signed an agreement with the Mef. Now I trust in you who represent tomorrow, to bring new life and believe strongly in the mission of contributing to the growth of your land.”
Schifani symbolically signed the first contract, that of a young mother. The dates on which the tests for the new four competitions, announced on 23 December last, will be communicated by June for the hiring of 322 officials: of which 200 in employment centres, 52 labor inspectors, 60 environmental technicians and 10 archaeologists.
