Kidnapping by the soldiers of the Paola Unit and denunciation of three people who own land in the municipality of Fuscaldo. In fact, during a report on waste abandonment, the military noticed various piles of waste in the “Messinette” area, in a plot of land bordering the beach where there was a house. We therefore proceeded with a more accurate control of the area which ascertained the presence of the abandonment of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste, mainly coming from building demolitions, as well as other ferrous material, asbestos and various waste. In the land there were two distinct areas used as real illegal landfills, one of them was delimited by large concrete blocks and filled with waste of the same type as that present in the other area and carefully hidden with sand. Therefore, as ordered by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Paola, the two areas containing waste were seized and the three owners were referred for violation of sector regulations.
Therefore, in recent weeks, under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Paola, the control action of the Forestry Carabinieri continues, aimed at repressing the indiscriminate abandonment of waste and the creation of illegal landfills. A synergistic action aimed at protecting the delicate environmental matrices of the Cosenza Tyrrhenian belt.
