The first degree judicial curtain falls for another murder of the mafia war in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, which has arrived in a courtroom after many years. Today the preliminary hearing judge Ornella Pastore, with the abbreviated procedure, dealt with the trial for the execution of 41-year-old Giovanni Perdichizzi “u spinaciu”, which took place on January 1, 2013.

According to the District Anti-Mafia Police, the killers were 36-year-old Salvatore Bucolo and 40-year-old Giovanni Crinò, known as “rock”. The ROS carabinieri arrested them in 2025, executing a precautionary custody order from investigating judge Arianna Raffa, who accepted the requests of the prosecutor’s office directed by Antonio D’Amato. Then the Review canceled everything for Crinò, and recently released Bucolo.

At the last hearing, DDA deputy Francesco Massara had asked for a 30-year sentence for the two alleged executors of the death sentence decreed by the Barcelona Cosa Nostra. And a little while ago there was the sentence: the Pastore preliminary hearing judge inflicted a 30-year sentence on Bucolo and Crinò, because it deemed them guilty of the mafia execution.
