The State Police saved the life of a woman who was involved in an independent road accident which occurred in recent days in Gioia Tauro. In particular, the woman, while riding her bicycle along a city street, suddenly fell to the ground, hitting her face on the road surface. The impact caused blood loss from her face, exposing her to the risk of suffocation.

The providential intervention of the Flying Squad

Having reached the site of the accident, the policemen of the Flying Squad of the Public Safety Commissariat of Gioia Tauro immediately implemented all the first aid procedures, keeping the woman’s airways free and containing the blood loss until the arrival of the medical personnel.

Emergency transport to hospital

The patient was then transported by ambulance, with the support of the Flying Squad, to the “Don Pasquale Stanganelli” multi-purpose stadium, from which she was subsequently urgently transferred, via air ambulance, to the Grand Metropolitan Hospital of Reggio Calabria.

The woman’s thanks to the officers

Once the clinical conditions had stabilized, the woman addressed a letter of thanks to the State Police Agents who intervened, expressing profound gratitude for the promptness, professionalism and determination demonstrated in a particularly critical moment.
