A difficult climb
The start of the competition seemed promising: in the first three pitches the couple found “Gennarino” taking home a first micro-prize of 6,000 euros. The Doctor immediately tested the waters with an offer of 27,000 euros, which was promptly returned to the sender.
However, fate began to work against him. Within a few minutes, Federica and Francesco saw the highest prizes vanish: 300,000, 200,000 and 100,000 euros lost.
Although the Doctor’s offer had dropped to just 5,000 euros (for 5 shots), the couple decided to risk everything, refusing and courageously moving forward, even though there was only one significant “red” left on the board: the 30,000 euro one.
The mocking change game
The crucial moment came at the end. With only €30,000, €20 and €1 at stake, the Doctor has decided to go all out with a card challenge. Federica drew the Cambio. After a long reflection, the contestant decided to exchange her package number 20 with number 8.
The joke: Upon opening package number 20, the bitter discovery: the 30,000 euros were right there. Left with a handful of flies (and a few pennies), the match now seemed to have ended in the worst possible way.
The ransom: The Fortunate Region
But Affari Tuoi never has the last word. Federica and Francesco had access to the Fortunata Region. First attempt: They choose Sicily for the maximum prize of 100,000 euros; after 10 regions are eliminated, tension rises. Among those remaining, the couple focuses on the Marche. Stefano De Martino eliminates the Marche, leaving the atrocious doubt between the 50,000 euros of the Marches and the 100,000 of Sicily. But with safe money for the competitor.
The silence in the studio was interrupted by an explosion of joy: the correct region was Sicily. Federica and Francesco return home to Montepaone with an incredible loot of 100,000 euros, transforming an evening that seemed haunted into an unforgettable success.
