An elderly woman was mugged in the historic center of Corigliano, a stone’s throw from the church of San Francesco di Paola. The episode represents a moment of authentic terror experienced by the woman in the heart of the Ausonic village, leaving her in a state of prostration and confusion. The victim was targeted by two criminals who robbed her right near the church of San Francesco, a place usually frequented by faithful and residents. According to initial reconstructions, the woman was walking through the area adjacent to the place of worship when she was approached by two individuals. In a few moments, the criminals violently snatched her bag, immediately disappearing into the alleys of the ancient village, losing their traces.
