«Historic homes are not just buildings to be preserved, but living testimonies of the history of Calabria: architecture, families, traditions and territorial identities. Adsi Calabria today brings together over ninety historic homes, but the overall regional heritage is much broader.” Thus Elisabetta Biffis Taccone, president of Adsi Calabria, introduces the meaning of the XVI National Day of Historic Houses, which on Sunday 24 May opens twenty private residences throughout the region free of charge to the public. With her we retrace the state of the Calabrian homes, the challenges of the owners and the balance of her first year of presidency. Architect, ICF Coach, federal yoga teacher and mother of five children, Biffis Taccone lives and leads the Tenuta Acton di Cannavà, in Rizziconi, where she chose to move with her husband after her years in Milan to take care of the family farm. Here he has recovered the habitat of the agricultural village by creating spaces for an educational centre, entrepreneurial coaching courses and a yoga and meditation school.
