The victim was hit by a blow to the neck and, immediately after the attack, he was rescued and urgently transported to the city hospital of Lamezia Terme, where he is currently hospitalized. The state police are investigating the episode at a rapid pace, committed to reconstructing the exact dynamics of what happened and identifying the motive for the gesture. The investigators are scrupulously analyzing the videos from the airport’s video surveillance system, which are essential for identifying the attacker who immediately fled in a car; according to the first investigative findings, the man is believed to be resident in a town on the Ionian coast of Catanzaro and searches are still underway throughout the area.
