Serious road accident along State Road 18, in the municipal area of Fuscaldo. A truck suddenly left the road, hit a car and ended up on a cliff. There was a driver at the wheel who suffered serious injuries due to the violent impact.
The intervention of the emergency services
Rescue services began promptly. The firefighters were involved in the delicate operations of extracting the driver from the sheets of the truck, which ended up on the embankment. The 118 medics and the air ambulance also arrived on site, landing in the area to speed up the transfer of the injured man.
The man’s condition immediately appeared very critical, so much so that he was transported to hospital under code red. Due to the accident and the subsequent operations to make the area safe and remove the vehicle, there were severe slowdowns and traffic disruptions along the affected stretch of Highway 18.
