A devastating fire destroyed the “Salumificio Rosa” in Sersale, a historic factory owned by the Borelli family, known for the Orocarni brand with which they have several sales points in the province. The flames spread around 9pm on Friday evening, destroying the structure.
The rescue and the first hypotheses on the causes
The firefighters were on site to put out the fire, as well as the Carabinieri from the Sellia Marina Company to carry out the necessary investigations. At first glance it would appear that the fire had an accidental origin, perhaps triggered by a short circuit. But investigations will define the causes.
The solidarity of local institutions
Many certificates of solidarity with the Borelli brothers, starting from the mayor Carmine Capellupo. «The mayor and the entire municipal administration – we read in the note – express deep closeness and sincere solidarity with the Borelli brothers and the entire family of Salumificio Rosa (Orocarni). A company built over the years with sacrifice, passion, work and extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit, capable of making the name of Sersale known far beyond the borders of our community. In moments like these, the entire country rallies around those who proudly represent the value of work every day.”
The message from the Chamber of Commerce
Proximity also on the part of the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Catanzaro Crotone Vibo Valentia, Pietro Alfredo Falbo. «While waiting for the competent authorities – he writes – to clearly ascertain the causes of the incident, I wish, on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and the entire local business system, to make the most sincere closeness felt to the Borelli family and to the entire company team affected by this dramatic event which, at the same time, has also shaken the entire community, aware of the commitment, passion and great quality work that the company embodies and expresses».
