Personnel from the Guardia di Finanza of Vibo Valentia found 34 boats, 13 vehicles, 22 marine engines, as well as various workshop equipment inside a shed, arranged along the entire width on trailers, stands and nautical cradles and other rudimentary systems, all in order to maximize the capacity of the area and increase the income from the illegal storage activity.
Not only that, during the inspection, in addition to the terrible conditions of the entire structure which was completely damaged, especially in the roof, numerous dangerous and non-hazardous waste were also found, accumulated without any distinction and for which there was no traceability system, revealing an overall picture of absolute non-compliance with the safety and hygiene requirements established by the sector regulations. The activity, without any administrative and environmental authorization, was immediately seized, and the people responsible were reported for lack of the necessary environmental authorizations. Everything found made it possible to ascertain that the person responsible, in addition to the violations of an administrative nature, had implemented a change in the intended use of the land and the building.
