Cohesion funds against high energy prices: the Calabria Region on alert

It risks doubling the effect of high energy prices on Calabria. No longer “just” the burden of skyrocketing prices for users and businesses. Now, in fact, the possible partial diversion of European funds intended for territorial cohesion to deal with price increases is also looming. This is essentially the meaning of the response received from the European Commission to the letter with which, just about ten days ago, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni asked Brussels for exceptions to the Stability Pact (such as for defense spending) to stem the crisis using state resources, without incurring infringement procedures.
