The twenty-year-old who was hit the day before yesterday during a motorcycle rally is fighting between life and death in the intensive care unit of the Annunziata hospital in Cosenza. It was supposed to be a day of celebration, characterized by passion for motors and aggregation. Instead, it turned into an afternoon of fear and apprehension.

A serious accident in fact shattered the climate of enthusiasm that accompanied the event, leaving organizers, pilots and the public in shock. The one who was injured was a young man of just twenty years old, a member of the technical staff working along the route in the role of race director. According to what emerged in the early stages of the investigation, the boy would have been hit by a motorbike which, for reasons still being examined by investigators, suddenly escaped the driver’s control and ended up crashing into the young man. The impact would have been very violent. In a few moments the demonstration stopped and shouts and requests for help rang out along the route. Those present watched the scene helplessly while the twenty-year-old remained on the ground waiting for help. The situation appeared serious. The 118 health workers intervened on site and, after having stabilized the young man and provided the first emergency treatment, arranged for his urgent transfer to hospital. The boy’s condition was deemed particularly serious by the doctors who decided to admit him to the intensive care unit, where he remains under constant monitoring. In the meantime, investigations have begun to shed full light on what happened. The police and other competent bodies are collecting testimonies, verifying the conditions of the vehicle involved and reconstructing every phase of the accident.
