Igea Virtus moves step by step in planning for the next season. The first move concerns the definition of the role of sporting director (Ettore Meli is on pole), then from there we will proceed to identify Sasà Marra’s successor as technical guide of the team. Having concluded the brief interregnum on the bench of the Neapolitan coach and that, not without some digs from the club, of Agatino Chiavaro as head of the transfer area, the club turns the page with the aim of remaining anchored to the top positions.
We start again from the extraordinary things achieved last season, a masterpiece of numbers and performance which is triggering the interest of some clubs towards the prized pieces of the squad. The Nissa of former Giallorossi coach Francesco Di Gaetano is apparently focusing on captain Claudio Calafiore, who intends to bring him back to his court after training him for almost a season and a half in Barcelona.
Marsala, on the other hand, would have set its sights on Salvatore Maltese, who aims to experience an Excellence as a great protagonist.
“Beatrice Leone Memorial”. The first edition of the tournament dedicated to the memory of the wife of the head of the Igea Virtus youth sector Santino Bellinvia, who was present at the event together with his children Sarah Jay and Sasà, took place at the “D’Alcontres-Barone”. On the field the Pulcini category was won by Orsa Barcellona.
Eight participating teams, in addition to the winners and the hosts of Igea Virtus, were present Torregrotta, Sant’Antonino, Pro Loco Merì, Jsl Brolo, Vivi Don Bosco and Folgore Milazzo. The challenge between Igea Virtus and Orsa was decisive, won by the Salesian formation.
