Port of Nebrodi in S. Agata Militello. Another 10.9 million ready for dredging

The Sicilian regional council has approved the green light for the reprogramming of the resources of the Development and Cohesion Fund ’21/’27, officially allocating 10,930,000 euros for the dredging of the seabed of the port basin of Sant’Agata Militello.
This is the last missing piece in the infinite and exhausting puzzle for the completion of the Port of Nebrodi, which over eight years after the start of construction is still waiting to see the light.
The additional financial allocation became necessary following the silting of the seabed to a greater extent than the project analyzes and the first intervention carried out in recent years, with a reduction in the maximum depth from eight to six meters and peaks close to four meters which effectively makes the basin inaccessible.
