The city council convened on Friday morning will officially sanction the election of Angelo Maimone, a member of Forza Italia, as president of the Chamber. An expected institutional transition which will effectively open the new administrative legislature after the reconfirmation of the mayor Pippo Midili and the clear success of the majority coalition. In fact, after the ritual formalities, and the oath of the new councilors, the election of the president and his deputy will take place.
Alongside the definition of the majority structure, it will also be interesting to understand what the organization and political strategy of the four who will sit on the opposition benches will be. Two of them refer to the area of ​​former councilor Lorenzo Italiano: Italiano himself and Carmelo Di Bella. To complete the picture of the minority will be Antonio Crisafulli, representative of South Call North, and Gioacchino Abbriano, representative of the Democratic Party. The composition of the opposition, numerically reduced compared to the large majority that supports mayor Midili, will be called upon to identify forms of coordination and political initiatives capable of guaranteeing the necessary role of control and proposal within the council chamber.
