There are approximately 425 kilometers that separate the Calabrian shores from the Tunisian ones. In the middle, preventing Tunis and Reggio Calabria from looking at each other, there is Sicily. But distances – in a hyperconnected world – are made to be cancelled. With this spirit, the Calabria Region has announced the birth of an international cooperation project which will soon lead to the creation of a Training Hub in the Governorate of Tunis. The initiative, called “Training Hub in Tunisia – a cooperation between equals”, will last 36 months and have a total value of over 7.4 million euros.
The project was financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, with co-financing by the Calabria Region and the partners involved. It will be a permanent structure designed to network institutions, universities, businesses and employment services on the two shores of the Mediterranean and to encourage the growth of skills and employment.
