A fire, the causes of which have already been investigated, affected the municipal Lido of Reggio Calabria last night, a historic tourist facility in the city since the 1930s. embellished by the so-called “Torre Nervi”, a panoramic construction in reinforced concrete designed in the 1960s by the architect Pier Luigi Neri.
The structure has been closed to the public for some years due to continuous vandalism during the winter closure period. Despite repeated maintenance interventions carried out by the city municipal administration, over time it has become a shelter for the homeless and a place for drug dealing.
