The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport financed 18 interventions in Calabria for a total amount of 114 million. The investment for Sicily is much more substantial, where 158 interventions were financed for a total amount of 709 million.

This is what emerged during the control room on the water crisis, convened this morning by Minister Salvini. «During the works – says a press release from the ministry – the state of implementation of the national investment program in the water sector was illustrated, divided into 733 interventions for a total financing of more than 6 billion. The current situation of the country was also photographed, which sees an improvement in the Centre-South compared to last year, while situations of water severity remain in the regions of the Po basin, which continue to require particular attention and monitoring.

The MIT – we then read – is also involved in preparing the procedures for the allocation of approximately 1 billion for the drinking water sector. Furthermore, a further financing program of approximately 700 million is being defined as part of the National Plan for Infrastructure Interventions and Security in the Water Sector (PNISSI), mainly intended for interventions for the irrigation use of the resource”. Minister Salvini underlined how water management «must necessarily be carried out with long-term planning and vision and reiterated the important commitment of his ministry which in addition to the 6 billion already planned will add new measures for approximately 1.7 billion to confirm the commitment to strengthen the security of supplies».
