Redevelopment of the former Isa: «Villa San Giovanni has never lost its funding»

«The city has never lost the PUI financing of the metropolitan city». Mayor Giusy Caminiti wanted to clarify the so-called ex Isa intervention. To summarize, in fact, the resources have not been used so far because the package of projects affected by the procedure falls within the “reorganization and recovery for social and environmental purposes of areas, urban sites and disused industrial buildings in the urban area of ​​Villa San Giovanni-Campo Calabro” to be carried out partly with the Pnrr and partly with ministerial funds. Within that intervention, in fact, even what had been prepared for the redevelopment of Forte Beleno – where, however, the constraint connected to the Ponte process insists (“immediately communicated to the Interior Ministry”, he recalled) – due to which in the conference of the services to the placet for the former Isa and the work in Campo, already verified, that of the MIT for the historic structure was not added in light, precisely, of what was connected to the stable infrastructure between the two banks. This affected – “not attributable to the Municipality” he remarked – the process specifically, but did not cause the sums to disappear. In practice, it was not possible to respect the known deadline of 30 June 2026 but there was a partial change in the funding source, with a recent decree from the Ministry of the Interior as “the Administration has demonstrated that it is perfectly compliant, in line with the required targets”.
