Overnight, Russia launched waves of missiles and drones at Kiev and the surrounding region, killing ten people and wounding at least 46 others, just hours after President Volodymyr Zelensky warned of another large-scale attack on the capital, according to the Kyiv Independent.
The head of the Kiev City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, reported that a residential building was partially destroyed between the seventh and ninth floors in the Podilskyi neighborhood.
Photos and videos published on social media show part of the building’s facade collapsed following the impact of a missile. Other residential buildings were hit in the Podilskyi neighborhood, and three more apartment buildings in the Darnytskyi neighborhood. Thousands of Kiev residents headed to subway stations for cover, as the Ukrainian Air Force warned of several dozen missiles heading towards Kiev.
In response to the missile launches, the Polish Air Force said it scrambled its fighters to preemptively protect the country’s airspace.
