The response from the Lamezia Committees 144 and 1067 was not long in coming after the declarations of the deputy Rossano Sasso, director of National Future regarding the “controversy” that arose after the abandonment of a large number of Lamezia Terme members.
“Taking note of the declarations of the Honorable Sasso that he should deal with the Apulian and non-Calabrian aspects which are delegated to a completely different Honorable Member, the 144 and 1067 committees reiterate their intention to return their membership cards and leave the Futuro Nazionale party”, we read in a note from the two Lametini committees. In the last few hours the committees, again through a press release, had announced the intention of six hundred members to abandon Futuro Nazionale.
The matter is “degenerates into the ridiculous, and this has only confirmed – continues the note from the committees – the reasons that led to making this decision. Not a party that leads towards the future, but that brings us back to a past that no one wants anymore. We should acknowledge that something is wrong and instead we attack and denigrate those who aren’t there, Calabria is tired of the power games of the usual suspects and wants to change the rules. Meritocracy, the real one. We want a party that listens to the real problems of the people, not that only imposes slogans and recycled old politics. Political competence, not arrogance.”
The rejoinder of the Calabria Coordinator
«I read with some amazement the statements of those who claim to speak on behalf of hundreds of people. The reality, however, is different.” MP Domenico Furgiuele, Calabrian coordinator of Futuro Nazionale, told Ansa, replying to the Lamezia Terme committees who announced the abandonment of General Roberto Vannacci’s movement, in dissent with the “line pursued by the national and Calabrian leadership group”.
«At the first regional assembly of Futuro Nazionale Calabria – adds Furgiuele – the room was packed, with militants and sympathizers arriving from every province of the region. Many of the committees that some claim to represent were present and spoke from the stage, denying that reconstruction with facts. Anyone who had something to say showed up alone at the end of the meeting, taking note of a participation that speaks for itself. The rest is a controversy built in the newspapers. It surprises me that certain press gives the same weight to the facts and declarations of those who, in the last municipal elections of Lamezia Terme, collected just 34 preferences, a public figure that can be easily verified on the website of the Ministry of the Interior”.

I fully respect the choice of the national management to entrust me with the leadership of Futuro Nazionale in Calabria and I will work every day to live up to it. I am always available to discuss with anyone. But the comparison is made in the appropriate places and by looking each other in the eye, not first looking for the pages of the newspapers. For the rest, the numbers speak for themselves: on one side a full room, on the other 34 preferences.”
