The Municipal Council of Crotone, on the proposal of the Councilor for Tourism Simona Ferraina, approved the act of direction for the support of tourist activity during the summer of 2026, through the increase and strengthening of the urban public transport service dedicated to tourists and city mobility.

The Administration’s objective is to encourage more efficient and sustainable mobility in the period of greatest tourist influx, improving connections between the city center and the seafront, with particular attention to Sundays in July and August, when the demand for travel increases significantly.

The act approved by the Council provides for the activation of a shuttle bus service with a suitable number of runs, on Sundays in July and August, to support the existing lines, with connections from the city center to the Atlantis and Casarossa beaches and, compatibly with available resources, up to Capo Colonna.

The intervention will also be financed through the proceeds of the tourist tax.

The initiative is part of the broader strategy of the municipal administration aimed at strengthening the city’s tourist offer, encouraging the use of public transport, reducing traffic congestion and improving the liveability of the most attractive areas during the summer season.

“With this act we continue to invest in concrete services aimed at improving the welcome of our city. Offering a more efficient connection between the center and the seafront means facilitating the movement of citizens and tourists. It is an intervention that integrates with the other initiatives implemented to strengthen the tourist season and consolidate the growth path of the city” declares councilor Ferraina.
