Iran says it struck US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain in response to American strikes. This was reported by Iranian state television, according to which the operation was conducted by the Revolutionary Guards.

In a statement released by state broadcaster IRIB, the Revolutionary Guards say they have targeted dozens of US military installations in the two countries. “In an initial response to this aggression, the Navy and Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Forces conducted a missile and drone operation, striking 85 key U.S. military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain,” the statement said.

Iranian authorities also claim to have shot down an MQ-9 drone during the operation. At the moment there is no independent confirmation of Tehran’s claims nor official statements from the United States.
