On Monday we return to the courtroom to “armorize” Castore’s service contract. On the penultimate day the municipal administration should complete the process of renewing the assignment of maintenance services to the in-house company of which the Authority is the majority shareholder (the other shares belong to the Metropolitan City). The reassurances to a representation of the workers (there are over 180 workers) came directly from the mayor, Francesco Cannizzaro who wanted to discuss “closed doors” with the employees who have experienced the difficult seasons of precariousness. The mayor reiterated his desire to give society a future and asked for collaboration in a strategic sector for the territory. A reality that he considers part of his team like the executive. Yesterday during the conference on purification the mayor reiterated the organisation’s commitment to society: «I felt it was my duty to meet them and thank them for the work they have done, are doing and will continue to do. Because in the next Council we will propose the extension of the contract. A necessary act. Someone will then have to explain to me why it wasn’t done before my arrival, but let’s look to the future and these workers who have dedicated themselves to the city for over 10 years must be supported. I promised them that we will adopt all administrative, economic and legislative measures to strengthen their commitment and increase the volume of employment.”
