The leader of the Democratic Party in the Municipality of Vibo Valentia Laura Pugliese has formalized her irrevocable resignation from office while simultaneously announcing her membership of Casa Riformista – Italia Viva. The communication, addressed to the president of the city council Antonio Iannello, the mayor Vincenzo Romeo and the city, provincial and regional bodies of the Democratic Party, motivates the decision with the lack of political conditions to continue one’s path within the council group and the party. In the letter, Pugliese states that he believes that «there are no longer the conditions for remaining within the PD council group and the Democratic Party itself, considering the political-administrative differences that have emerged».
The councilor expresses thanks to the regional secretary and to the members of the council group who, during her political journey, have placed their trust in her, underlining the value of the experience gained. While leaving the Democratic Party, Pugliese reiterates his desire to continue supporting the administrative action of the centre-left majority. The political choice ends with the announcement of the continuation of one’s commitment within Casa Riformista – Italia Viva, a group in which he declares that he wants to continue his political activity “continuing to work and hope for a better future”.
