On the afternoon of Monday 3 August, the Pala Giordanello in Camigliatello Silano was the scene of the eagerly awaited test match between the young Italians of the Under 17 men’s national team and the same age group from Poland. For the record, the match ended with Italy’s victory 3-1 (18-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-23), at the end of an intense match which offered excellent indications on the pitch.

Before the kick-off, the appointment was preceded by a moment of high professional training: a course for coaches of all levels directed by Vincenzo Fanizza, technical director of the men’s national youth teams.

There is also room for official recognition: on the initiative of the president of the Italian Volleyball Federation Giuseppe Manfredi, in collaboration with the regional committee of Fipav Calabria, two commemorative plaques were awarded to the two teams. The delivery was carried out by federal councilor Marco Mari and the president of Fipav Calabria Carmelo Sestito.

The event was part of the Calabria International Volleyball Experience 2026 project, an initiative coordinated by the Fipav Calabria Regional Committee with the aim of enhancing the territory as a reference point for international volleyball, combining great sport, tourism promotion and visibility for the extraordinary landscape resources of the region.
