«When faced with the data on the resources destined for the South we only had confirmation of what we already knew, but reading the detailed numbers is an intolerable insult for our communities, the confirmation that a planned subtraction of what we are entitled to is underway». This was supported by Filomena Greco, regional councilor of Casa Riformista – Italia Viva, during the national press conference of the Southern Civic Network in Bacoli.
The meeting was attended by the mayors Moses Antonio Troiano of San Paolo Albanese, president of the Network, Vito Fusco of Castelpoto, coordinator of the Network, and Josi Gerardo Della Ragione of Bacoli, together with the deputies Marco Sarracino (Pd), Alessandro Caramiello (5 Star Movement) and Francesco Emilio Borrelli (Avs), and the other members of the Board of Directors of the Network Stefano Bouché, Rosella Cerra and Daniela Primerano.
The association of administrators from the South has announced the results of the request for access to documents presented to the Guarantor of transparency. Despite the omissions of most ministries, which have provided partial data over the years, the official numbers obtained by the Government already certify the territorial defunding of the entire South, which between 2016 and 2023 was allocated just 21.5% of public capital expenditure, compared to the 34% envisaged by the original clause, a threshold later raised to 40% in 2024.
