Reggina will resume preparation in Cantalupa today. These will be the last days of retreat in view of the last joint training session scheduled in Piedmont for Thursday 13 August at 5.30pm with Sanremese. We are then awaiting communications on when we will return to work in Reggio, with a good possibility that there will be at least one friendly match to be played on the Strait before the official debut in the Serie D Italian Cup scheduled for 30 August. The absolute premiere will see the amaranths opposed to whoever prevails between PraiaTortora and Brindisi.
The days in the North and at altitude allowed us to enjoy milder temperatures than those experienced in Reggio in recent days. Likewise, seeing dozens of fans following the pre-season training and tests served to remind us how much Reggina is the flag of a people, even when their residence is not their place of origin. However, the moment is approaching when Reggina will return home and on the football front the city seems excited. He feels he has found a project worthy of the ambitions of Reggina who should have only been in Serie D but instead remained there longer than expected. Winning, however, is never easy and the issue seems clear to the new club, given that reinforcements capable of shifting the balance are still expected. Partly because the current squad still has some boxes to fill and partly because to maintain the role of absolute favorite it is necessary to create a strong squad with a long bench. This could become the week in which we find out if Gianmario Comi will become the new center forward. On the other hand, the choice of characteristics among the names in contention could become decisive.
